Engine Temperature Alarm / Gauge

The Engine Watchdog temperature alarm and gauge gives your Hiace a digital numeric temperature reading, and allows you to set a threshold at which an alarm will sound, notifying you that your engine temperature is in the danger zone.

From our experience, most drivers do not initially notice when they're experiencing an overheating event, causing further damage due to the duration of time the engine spent overheating. This gauge is cheap insurance against a costly head gasket replacement job. 

The installation of the gauge is very user friendly, and does not require a coolant probe- you simply bolt the sensor eyelet to the cylinder head. The gauge is powered by a standard cigarette lighter (12v) receptacle, or can be hard-wired to your vans electrical system.

Fitment:

All Toyota Hiace vans.

Probe placement:

• 1KZ Engine: On ground wire attachment bolt on the top front passenger side of the cylinder head.
• 3L Engine: On the lower thermostat hosing bolt connecting the thermostat housing to the cylinder head.

Temperature threshold (for the alarm):

• 1KZ Engine: 222 *F
• 3L Engine: 230 *F
