Harmonic Balancer (Crankshaft Pulley)

We have found that the harmonic balancer on the 3L 2.8 liter diesel engine has a tendency to fail after 25 years. The failure is a result of the pulley separating from the weighted "balancer" center. The pulley will then spin freely from the center, often shifting laterally into the timing cover- damaging the cover, and possibly the timing belt. For this reason, we replace all 3L harmonic balancers as preventative maintenance.

Fitment:

Our 1KZ harmonic balancer will fit all years Toyota Hiace vans with the 1KZ-TE 3.0 liter diesel engine, with the following chassis: KZH100, KZH106, KZH110, KZH113, KZH116, KZH120, KZH126, KZH132, KZH138. This is an OEM part.

Our 3L harmonic balancer will fit 1989 through 2005 Toyota Hiace vans with the 3L 2.8 liter and 5L 3.0 liter diesel engine, with the following chassis: LH100, LH102, LH103, LH104, LH105, LH107, LH109, LH109V, LH110, LH112, LH113, LH114, LH115, LH119, LH120, LH123, LH125, LH129, LH140, LH154, LH162, LH164, LH166, LH168, LH172, LH174, LH176, LH178, LH182, LH184, LH186, LH188.
